On November 5, 2025, Mr. Argus Ang, Chief Executive Officer of the RVi Group, Mdm Gloria Huang, Managing Director of MTO, Mr. Kenrick Lee, Business Development Director of China Daily Asia Pacific, and Ms. Pimpaporn Subthiradej, Head of Corporate Communications of the RVi Group, together with Mr. Nelson and Ms. Emily, attended the Opening Ceremony of the Maha Loi Krathong @ Ayutthaya as special guests of Mr. Natthaphakorn Akkarawit, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, and Mr. Riang Thongbat Meepan, President of the Ayutthaya Tourism Business Association. The event, held at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wat Phra Ram within the Ayutthaya Historical Park, took place from November 2 to 6, 2025, and is recognized as one of Thailand’s largest and most significant Loy Krathong festivals.
This year’s occasion was held with a deep sense of reverence, both to preserve the cherished Thai tradition of floating decorative krathongs and to honor the royal grace and lifelong contributions of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The event’s format was respectfully adapted to include elements of condolence and tribute, with all attendees dressed in white, black, or traditional Thai attire in subdued tones, symbolizing respect and remembrance.
The ceremony commenced with the arrival of the Guest of Honour, Mr. Thamanat Prompow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, followed by a moment of silence and remembrance before the royal portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
Throughout the event, visitors were invited to join in a royal tribute area, featuring exhibitions of The Queen Mother’s royal duties and a mass candle-lighting ceremony in her honor.
A highlight of the evening was the Nopphamat Queen Procession, led by Ms. Opal Suchata, Miss World 2025 and Thailand’s Tourism Ambassador, together with well-known actors Ms. Jaja Primrata and Mr. Big Sarut, who beautifully narrated the historical origins of Loy Krathong from the Sukhothai era.
The event also offered cultural workshops where visitors could craft traditional krathongs using natural materials and create black ribbon pins as symbols of respect and remembrance.
Set amidst the ancient grandeur of Ayutthaya, this year’s Maha Loi Krathong truly reflected the essence of Thai cultural heritage, unity, and royal tribute, while elevating the event into an international cultural occasion that proudly represents the timeless beauty of Thailand.
